Hello Lovelies!

I like to make outfits memorable. What I mean by this is, I like to be able to remember the outfit I wore to whatever occasion I attended. If I can’t remember what outfit I was wearing, then I probably didn’t much thought into it.

I have an entire strategy for putting an outfit together. Want to know how I do it? It’s really simple. You’ll laugh when you hear it.

I never own more clothes than I can wear.

Simple strategy, right? I mean, when you think about it, it really makes sense. When a person owns more clothes than they can remember, they lose so many potential outfits. I mean, sure, you can wear a new thing everyday, but where’s the fun in that? I love the challenge of finding new outfits to combine together from my wardrobe.

I used to hang on to every article of clothing I could get my hands on, and my closet was bulging. The problem was, part of the closet was filled with clothes I loved, part had stuff I just wanted to hang on to, and part were filler items that I never intended to wear, but didn’t want to take them out because then my closet would look bare.

I finally came to realize that I hated looking in my closet. I hated looking at all the clothes I had wasted my money on just because I wanted to buy something new and they were cheap. So, one day I went into my closet and cleaned it out. Everything I wasn’t wearing and hadn’t worn and wasn’t going to wear went into a pile onto my bed and from there went to Goodwill.

I felt a huge sense of relief getting rid of all the clothes that had been bogging down my closet. I only had a few articles of clothing left, but they were things I actually really liked and hadn’t really seen because I had so much junk around them.

Since then, I slowly started building up a wardrobe of things I really like. Not to say I’m not tempted to buy things that are cheap every now and then, but I resist the urge. I would rather spend a little more on something I’ll wear then buy several things that I don’t even want.

So how does all this relate to planing the perfect outfit? Well, if you can see everything in your closet and you love everything in your closet, then planning an outfit will be a breeze.

Does your closet need a good cleaning?

If you like what you see, please share!
