There is literally nothing so wonderfully relaxing like a hot bath. It’s incredible how the body responds so well to warm water and delightful fragrances set in a dimly lit room with soft music playing. If I could sell one thing to people, it would be the importance of taking time to just relax and let your body recharge in a way that fuels your mind. For me, that is a hot bath and a glass of wine.
Honestly, an at home spa day doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as doing something that makes you feel recharged or pretty or healthier. Anything to step away from the everyday and take a moment for yourself.
A typical spa day for me is hot bath, glass of wine, bath salts from my favorite shop, a good book, low lighting ( can be twinkle lights or a lamp ), and soft jazz playing. I also like to roll up a towel to place behind my neck.
No matter what your spa day looks like, just be sure to unplug from life for a minute and relax completely. Pour yourself into whatever it is that makes you feel at ease, whether that be cooking a meal, working out, making a cocktail, or even a walk around the neighborhood.
Taking time to recharge is so important, even if it’s only an hour. Planning out a time when the phone won’t bug you, you don’t have to solve anyone’s problems, and nothing is being done that is a job or chore can seem really daunting at first. But carving out that time to have your own ‘spa day’, however that looks, will get easier with practice. And remember, if you’re not recharging yourself, you won’t have any battery power to help others. Take some time to relax your mind and enjoy a moment of self care.
