So, how many of you are still struggling through winter weather? It was nice and warm here for about a week and then the temperature plummeted and now I’m sitting huddled in a jacket and sweater, wondering what happened. Of course, the day I wanted to take my spring clothed pictures it would be in the high 50’s. Brrrrrr.
Anyway, enough about my cold weather escapades. The point of this post was to style a few spring pieces so they can transition well from cooler weather to warmer. So without further ado, here are a few tips on wearing your spring clothes even when the weather is still chilly outside with two looks for spring from Tobi.
1 | Layer.
This one is kind of a no-brainer. I mean if you’re cold, you put on a jacket. However, it needs to be season appropriate. If you live in an area thats still getting snow, than obviously you would wear my than just jacket. However, if you’re further south, like me, than a light utility jacket is perfect for those slightly chilly days. Gap has some really pretty ones in several pretty spring colors along with the traditional olive green.
2 | Close-toed shoes.
So, if you’re like me, than you rebel about having to paint your toenails all the time. I actually wore sneakers an entire summer once just to avoid this. Wearing close-toed or even a small peep toe is perfect for those days before you are tan feet ready.
3 | Add a scarf.
I didn’t with these outfits, but when I’m feeling particularly chilly, I reach for one of my favorite scarves. The best are the infinity ones. You don’t have to worry about tying them or hoping they stay put.
Those are my tips. If you have any to add, leave them in the comments below! Also, share your favorite looks for spring in the comments or on my group Pinterest board, Passion for Fashion. If you’re not a member, send me a request! I would love to have you join.
