At the prompting of one of my lovely readers, I’ve put together a post with the products I use daily on my face in the morning. Skin care is so crucial and honestly, you can’t start too young. I think I started washing my face in high school, but had no idea you were supposed to re-hydrate it. I thought that putting cream on your skin would cause it to break out. Wow, how wrong I was!
Then, once I got into my 20s and had established a morning routine for my skin, I then realized it might be a good idea to add in a nighttime routine as well ( coming soon to the blog! ). Needless to say, I have not gone about this in the right way or method. However, I do try to use skin care products that will help rather than harm my skin.
1. Garnier Skin Active face wash
This stuff is amazing! It is soap, alcohol, fragrance, sulfate, and oil free. It also won’t dry out your skin, it will balance it. What I mean by that is, it washes off the dirt and oils your face pick up during the day, without completely drying your face out.
2. Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic toner
Now, a lot of you will not want to use toner, claiming that it burns or completely dries out your skin. And if you are using a toner with alcohol, you would be right! You should never use a toner that contains any kind of alcohol, as it will damage that surface of your skin. The point of toner is to work sort of like an exfoliation, but without the scrubbing. It takes of th top dead layer of skin.
3. First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue face cream
This brand is the bomb.com! Guys, if you have not checked out First Aid Beauty, you are missing out. All of their products are amazing, especially their lotions. This one is formulated again without oil or fragrance and their are no parabens, alcohol, or artificial colorants in it. It’s a fantastic face cream. It also lasts forever because a little goes a long way!
4. Clinique All About Eyes Rich eye cream
I used to sue the regular formula of this and it worked well, but the rich formula is amazing. It really hydrates your eye area and keeps it hydrated throughout the day. I wear a lot of eye makeup, so having properly hydrated eye skin is essential. This stuff also lasts a really long time, so a great investment if you want to go with the larger tub.
So, that is my skin care routine that I do every morning and so far, my skin looks and feels very healthy. I also consume a great deal of water everyday, try to keep my hands off my face, and in general, stay away from foods that tend to break me out (well, I try to anyway, lol ).
All of this to say, don’t wait as long as I did to start taking care of your skin. Start doing it now! What are your favorite products to use on your face?
