One of the things I love about blogging is that I can completely be myself. More so than with my friends or even my family.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m kind-of a quirky, geeky, tea-obsessed, fandom-loving, photography nut that also happens to be a fashion blogger.
Over the years of blogging I’ve done, I’ve gotten mixed responses whenever I told people what I really like to do. And when I mentioned that I would make a living at it, well, let’s just say that the response wasn’t overflowing encouragement. Mostly, I get the stare, the blink, and then the ‘oh, that’s cool’.
It’s been hard staying true to what I love and who I am. The reason I’m writing this is to say that if there is anyone else out there who feels this way, I want to encourage you from my own experiences. Don’t let people’s opinions get you down. They’re just people, not the law of the universe. And if they think you’re stupid or wrong, let them. They don’t know what motivates you. They don’t know what it’s like being you. They’re just one person ( or multiple people ) who have only lived their own lives.
Being you and staying true to that can sometimes be very hard, but it’s worth it. Trust me. Trying to be someone else, isn’t.
